COVID 19 & MLA In-Person Event Statement

Mid-America Lumbermens Association continues to monitor the rules and regulations for masking, social distancing, etc. surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on meetings, classes and events.

Updated as of December 21, 2021

Mid-America Lumbermens Association will seek to make all attendees as safe and comfortable when attending in-person events as reasonably able. Masks, handwashing/hand sanitation and social distancing will be encouraged however will not be mandated or required unless mandated by federal/state/local authorities and/or the host facility at the time of each event.  Please note that this could involve last-minute notices and adjustments.

All attendees should agree to comply with the protocols set forth and enforced by the association at the time of the event.

When possible, Mid-America Lumbermens Association will seek to provide additional space for attendees when attending in-person events but cannot guarantee it. Not all function spaces and/or rooms will allow for social distancing.

No individual should attend any MLA event if they are feeling ill or have felt ill in the previous two weeks leading up to an MLA event. If any attendee should happen to test positive for COVID-19 (or any variant) within two weeks after attending an MLA event, attendees are asked to immediately contact the MLA Office at (800) 747-6529 so that we may notify all other attendees. Your identification in this case would remain confidential.

By registering to attend MLA events, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to (and possible infection of) diseases, including but not limited to COVID-19, exists in any public place where people are present. By registering and attending, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID (or other infectious disease) and that Mid-America Lumbermens Association staff, officers, contracted vendors, other attendees, or hosting venues cannot be held responsible for illnesses that may arise around the time of the event. We encourage all attendees to read and adhere to the suggested safety guidelines to better protect everyone.

MLA will do its best to communicate Covid-19 rules and/or any changes to attendees in advance of all meetings, classes and/or event(s). Masking requirements may vary based on the facility/location. Please visit the individual event registration page for the specific covid-19 rules/regulations.
